Signed Pops Casey Folk Art Cigar Cabinet — Three-Drawer Chest

A wonderfully expressive cabinet by Chicago folk artist Casey Lewandowski, known as Pops Casey, bringing together carved wood, colorful cigar labels, and the charm of miniature furniture.

Its black-painted case provides a striking backdrop for an eclectic arrangement of cigar advertising. Illustrated panels decorate both sides, while additional labels enliven the top and drawer fronts. Repeating notched borders frame the cabinet, and three contrasting white knobs complete its distinctive appearance.

The open drawers reveal cigar-box construction, incorporating the boxes’ printed decoration into a functional work of art. An overhanging top and shaped feet give the piece the presence of a full-size chest in miniature.

A self-taught artist with a background in professional carpentry, Pops Casey carries the traditions of American folk and tramp art into contemporary work. This signed cabinet reflects his inventive approach to familiar materials and everyday forms.

Display it on a tabletop or shelf, or hang it on the wall as an unexpected statement piece.
