Pearls of Prayer — Celluloid Children’s Prayer Book | Free US Shipping

A lovely little Catholic prayer book featuring a softly colored Communion scene on its cream-toned cover. Inside, an ornate gold-and-white decorative panel frames a crucifix, followed by a colored religious illustration and traditional prayers and instructions for children.

Published by Catholic Publications Press, New York, and marked “Made in Czechoslovakia.” The ecclesiastical approval is dated May 28, 1925; the exact printing date is unconfirmed. Cover appears to be celluloid.

Dimensions: Approximately 4¼″ tall × 2½″ wide.

Condition: Age-related toning, surface and corner wear, and a pencil notation inside. A discreet piece of tape at the spine supports the binding. The binding feels firm when gently handled, but the celluloid covering is loose. Offered as found; handle with care.
