Vintage Pairpoint Figural Compote with Art Glass Bowl & Onyx Base

A truly charming and unusual vintage Pairpoint piece, combining art glass, silverplate, and onyx in a wonderfully decorative figural form.

The compote features a sculptural silverplate figure supporting a beautifully ruffled art glass bowl. The glass graduates from a creamy opaque center to a warm golden-yellow edge, with a delicate raised bead decoration encircling the interior. Below, the figural standard rests upon a substantial square onyx platform, framed by an ornate silverplate base.

The underside is clearly marked PAIRPOINT with the Pairpoint hallmark and pattern number C1438.

Pairpoint was renowned for its beautifully made decorative metalwork and art glass, and this piece has exactly the whimsical elegance that makes the company's figural wares so appealing. It would be wonderful displayed on a vanity, dressing table, mantel, or incorporated into a collected traditional interior.

While the base is clearly marked Pairpoint, we have not independently confirmed the maker of the art glass bowl.
